Saving the world with invertebrates ( and slime moulds )

Living with the little critters that run the world

This blog is dedicated to helping us live with the ‘little things that run the world’. I’ll provide solutions and strategies to help you deal with your insect problems, save our insect friends, and even some valuable tips about how insects can help save the world!

Insects (and related invertebrates) are the overlooked engines of our ecosystems. They pollinate our crops, clean up our waste, and protect our crops from pests.

Alarmingly, these little legends are on the decline world wide.

On the other hand, insects can sometime be problematic- ranging from the nuisance of a cockroach infestation, to the serious human health issues caused by mosquitoes and other biting insects.

We need to learn how to live with insects in a way that is good for both humans and the environment.

Living with the little critters that run the world

Our lab stands on the lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. They were Sydney’s first scientists.

We pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the land and to Elders past , present and emerging. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and that this is -and always will be -Aboriginal land.
